چکیده

Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PJP) is an opportunistic infection affecting immunocompromised patients. Patients with acute myeloid leukemia (AML) are not considered at high risk of PJP, thus, prophylaxis recommended. Between 2010 and 2020 we retrospectively analyzed 251 AML We performed molecular diagnosis genotyping in 67 bronchoalveolar lavage samples. Eleven cases PJP were diagnosed, a prevalence 4.3%. Our study confirms that the most widespread genotype Europe 1; our patients, 70% presented 1 30% 3.

Atypical Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia in previously untreated patients with CLL on single-agent ibrutinib.

Ibrutinib is not known to confer risk for Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PCP). We observed 5 cases of PCP in 96 patients receiving single-agent ibrutinib, including 4 previously untreated. Clinical presentations included asymptomatic pulmonary infiltrates, chronic cough, and shortness of breath. The diagnosis was often delayed. Median time from starting ibrutinib to occurrence of PCP was 6 m...

Pneumocystis jirovecii Pneumonia in Patients with or without AIDS, France

Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia (PCP) in patients without AIDS is increasingly common. We conducted a prospective cohort study of consecutive patients with proven PCP; of 544 patients, 223 (41%) had AIDS (AIDS patients) and 321 (59%) had other immunosuppressive disorders (non-AIDS patients). Fewer AIDS than non-AIDS patients required intensive care or ventilation, and the rate of hospital deat...

Prognostic nomogram for previously untreated adult patients with acute myeloid leukemia

This study was designed to perform an acceptable prognostic nomogram for acute myeloid leukemia. The clinical data from 311 patients from our institution and 165 patients generated with Cancer Genome Atlas Research Network were reviewed. A prognostic nomogram was designed according to the Cox's proportional hazard model to predict overall survival (OS). To compare the capacity of the nomogram w...
